Overview

Quinnipiac University’s Office of Development and Alumni Affairs is seeking a Director of Alumni & Parent Relations for the successful planning, execution, and evaluation of alumni, parent and friends engagement programming for the University.  The incumbent will develop, plan, implement and direct strategies, initiatives, services and activities that engage alumni & parents with the school and with one another. The incumbent will explore innovative ways to integrate alumni & parents into Quinnipiac’s distinctly personal, connected, and transformative learning community. 

The Director manages all functions of alumni & parent relations, including working with the Alumni Board of Governors to craft a global strategic platform that consists of programing and events annually including signature events, reunions, industry panels, and recent alumni programming. S/he will develop sophisticated metrics that measure ROI, informs decision-making, and ensure these programs support the goals of the school, e.g. development, admissions, student engagement and placement.  The Director will also lead a team while managing operations and budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate an effective program of alumni activities including, but not limited to: Reunion/ Homecoming Weekend, Distinguished Alumni Awards, Athletic Hall of Fame, Alumni Association Golf Tournament, Parents Weekend and a wide range of regional parent and alumni chapter-based events
  • Serve as the chief staff liaison to the Quinnipiac University Alumni Association, including serving as secretary to the Alumni Association’s National Board of Governors. Responsible for the oversight of Board elections, succession of officers and facilitation of meetings and communications. Also serve as the chief liaison to the Quinnipiac University School of Law Alumni Association.
  • Initiate with the Associate Vice President of Health Affairs Development an alumni program for the School of Medicine and assist in maintaining accurate data on alumni
  • Assist in the publication of major University publications including, but not limited to: Quinnipiac Magazine and the Annual Report
  • Provide timely reports to the Senior Associate Vice President for Development and Alumni Affairs for inclusion in the Board Quarterly and other reports as needed
  • Serve as liaison to public affairs staff to insure accuracy, integrity and timeliness of Alumni website
  • Work with Quinnipiac Athletics to plan and execute alumni events in conjunction with Division I games

 

 

 

Qualifications & Special Instructions to Applicants

  • Bachelor's degree required in business or a related field
  • Minimum 5-7 years of alumni relations experience
  • Ability to clearly and persuasively articulate to alumni the benefits of their engagement
  • Experience with successfully engaging with multiple constituencies representing diverse interests and perspective 
  • Strong strategic planning, relationship building, communication and management skills 
  • Cultivate and sustain high touch service culture

  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing highly effective strategic and tactical plans based on rigorous data analysis

  • Commitment to building an inclusive community that values the diversity of backgrounds, talents, experiences, and perspectives of all its members

  • Requires travel domestically and internationally to support Development & Alumni Affairs programs
