The Department of Social Work within the School of Health Sciences invites applications for the position of Field Education Coordinator. The Field Education Coordinator assists with day-to-day operational activities in the Field Education program of the Social Work Department to ensure that students in the Master's Social Work successfully complete the program. In collaboration with the Director of Field Education, the Field Coordinator is also responsible for developing and maintaining the relationships that provide students with quality field experiences. The coordinator helps to plan and implement continuous quality improvement measures that meet the standards of CSWE accreditation and requirements of the university, school and department. 


This is a 0.5 full-time 12-month, administrative position.

  • Coordinate field placements for MSW students
  • Assist the Director of Field Education in developing new field placement and agency/community partnerships and in maintaining and expanding current relationships
  • Process applications for Field Education including monitoring student completion of all university, department and field site requirements to enter field placement and assessing student readiness
  • Monitor and evaluate student Learning Contracts in collaboration with Field Liaisons
  • Utilize E*Value portal to maintain data regarding status of students and ensure compliance with completion of required hours, and to assess results of evaluations of CSWE competencies
  • Support the development and improvement of Field Education policies and procedures that are congruent with changing accreditation standards, university, school, and department requirements
  • Assist the Director of Field Education in creating and facilitating orientations for students, field instructors and field liaisons
  • Collaborate with Field Liaisons and Field Instructors on the resolution of any problems that may interfere with the successful completion of field education in consultation with the Director of Field Education
  • Prepare and disseminate the field newsletter once per semester
  • Serve on Clinical Compliance and Education Committee of the School of Health Sciences
  • Serve on the Field Advisory and Community Outreach Committee of the Social Work Department and serve on the Field Advisory Board in the department
  • Act as designee of the Director of Field Education, as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Special Instructions to Applicants


  • Master of Social Work degree from a CSWE -accredited program. Licensed as LMSW or LCSW
  • A minimum of three years post-master's social work practice experience
  • One year of experience as a field instructor or field liaison and one year of experience in program development and management
  • Excellent written and oral communications

The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of CSWE program accreditation and of agencies and organizations in the state that have need for and interest in training social work students.


Preferred Competencies:

  • Demonstrated Microsoft  Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and web-based applications for documentation and record keeping
  • Experience planning, analytical and organizational skills
  • Collaborative problem solving
  • Experience working with diverse populations
