Overview

Quinnipiac University 's School of Law invites applications for the position of Law Admissions Coordinator. Reporting to the Director of Admissions, this highly visible position is responsible for increasing awareness and building enthusiasm for Quinnipiac University School of Law through student recruitment initiatives, outreach and communication, and specialized events.

 

Occasional weekend and evening hours are required.

 

About the School of Law:
 
The School of Law, located on the University’s North Haven graduate campus, offers a full program of basic and elective courses to both full-time and part-time students. Students wishing to gain extensive exposure to a given practice area may customize their course of study to earn certificates in one or more of eight concentrations (including tax law and intellectual property).  Students gain practical exposure to the law through a variety of clinical and experiential opportunities (including the nation’s oldest continuing-operating tax clinic).  The school offers a wide array of extracurricular activities, including three student-edited law reviews (The Quinnipiac Law Review, the Probate Law Journal and the Health Law Journal). The School of Law is ABA accredited and a member of the AALS.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the operations of the law admissions office, including directing and counseling prospective and admitted students on admissions standards, scholarship opportunities, comprehensive program information, University offerings and the local area
  • Conducts follow-up with prospective students regarding application requirements, missing information, etc
  • Generates inquiries from prospective students, assisting in converting to enrolled students
  • Acts as the liaison between the Law School and prospective/admitted students, families, other University offices such as the Bursar's, Procurement, and Veteran and Military Affairs
  • Responds to relevant inquiries and communications from all constituents
  • Manages all student visitation, including staff and stakeholder assignments and schedules
  • Collaborates with the Associate Director of Admissions in the development and implementation of on- and off-campus recruitment events and programs, including but not limited to, prospective and admitted student open houses, 1L preview day, and scholarship programs.
  • Administers the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT) multiple times per year
  • Serves as the primary contact for the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) for testing, processing, and reporting
  • Manages temporary employees and work-study students, including evaluating performance and providing feedback to the Director of Admissions
  • Coordinates with the Director of Admissions in developing a recruitment travel plan and supervising recruiters' travel arrangements
  • Works in conjunction with the Associate Director of Admissions in recruiting, training and supervising admissions tour guides and ambassadors

Qualifications & Special Instructions to Applicants

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 2-3 years of experience in admissions, outreach, recruitment, or a related setting
  • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal and organizational skills 
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with ACES2 and/or Colleague preferred

Occasional weekend and evening hours are required.
